IGLoo & Winter camping

The Fideriser Heuberge are a popular area for igloo builders due to their guaranteed snow. In recent years, the pressure of outdoor overnight stays has increased significantly, and with it the negative consequences: Litter, remnants of open-air toilets and complaints from locals whose properties have been used or whose privacy has not been respected. Heuberge AG and the municipality of Fideris have therefore decided to draw up a code of information and behaviour. This should ensure that winter overnight stays are also possible in our area in the future. Only thanks to the ‘fair play’ of all users can a strict ban on igloo building and camping be avoided.  

Registration 
Individuals or groups should register in good time by telephone or e-mail at the Heuberge AG reception. When registering, the contact details of the person responsible will be recorded.  

Preferred zones 1 – 3 
In order to avoid overcrowding, igloos and other overnight accommodation should only be set up in the allocated zones according to the map below. The desired zone can be reserved at the reception of Heuberge AG. In the event of multiple occupancy, another zone must be used.

Transport costs
CHF 5.00 per person will be charged for the transport of material that exceeds the scope of normal outdoor luggage. 

Waste disposal and use of WC facilities
Users undertake to leave the overnight accommodation 100% waste-free and to take their waste back down to the valley or to dispose of it in the containers provided for this purpose below the Berghaus Arflina. The fee for this is CHF 5.00 per person and stay and also includes the use of the toilets. Recyclable waste (e.g. PET, glass, tinplate) must be transported down to the valley by the users themselves and disposed of correctly. Appropriate containers are available at the car parks at the valley station.   

Outdoor toilets
To ensure that no faeces, toiletries or toilet paper appear on the meadows in spring, all visitors are asked to follow the guidelines of #scheissmoment by SAC and Schweizer Wanderwegen. If it is not possible to bury excrement, it should be collected in airtight, sealable bags together with the toilet paper and sanitary products and disposed of as waste. 

Checks
A brief report to reception on departure is appreciated. Heuberge AG reserves the right to carry out checks, to document any misbehaviour found and to charge any cleaning or disposal costs to the person or company responsible.
